Honduras in Central America is situated on top of the worlds second largest barrier reef.

Utila and Roatan are probably the best known of the islands for diving that make up the Bay Islands of Honduras.

Warm water, many species to see, cave diving, wreck diving, shark and dolphin diving.

Many properly developed and managed sites with visibility most of the year round up to 100 feet.

Utila is popular with younger people and backpackers and those on a low budget whereas Roatan offers luxury to small hotels.

Both Naui and PADI dive centres operate in Honduras.

Info on scuba diving met with Syntia Bennett Solomon the Vice Minister of Tourism for Honduras at the World Travel Market in London on 8th November 2011 to discover more about diving around Honduras.

Honduras is very unspoilt with few divers on a site – fifteen to twenty divers seems to be the maximum on a boat.  Most likely you will not see another dive operator on the same site as you.  There is a liveaboard operating in the area as well.
